The treasurer reported our new balance as: $2,256.63

New Reports and Actions:

  • Jim Haag thanked all phone tree volunteers and Frank Sancineto for his direction of the Parish Picnic.
  • Joe Rothengast and Terry Whalen are the Council's new Fourth Degree knights.
  • Mike Benigno is the Council's Financial Secretary-elect. His application is awaiting approval by Supreme.
  • Larry Opansenko reported that we collected $5,300.00 less about $100.00 for the tootsie rolls from Operation Lamb.  This is approximately 40% more than collected in 2006.
  • $610.00 has been collected to date for the lift-chair donations for Peter Kraehenbuhl and Liam O'Connor.
  • Car Raffle: 194 tickets have been sold to date per Frank Sancineto.  We need $18,000 for prize money and about $1,300 for reception food.  Frank mentioned that, as it is right now, we will break even.  A motion was made and approved to proceed as planned with the November 11 drawing date and not delay the raffle to December.
  • Veteran's Day:  Key rings made by Dan Tomczak will be handed out after all masses next weekend.  It was recommended that the cost of the Veteran's Day event for the parish be included in the Council's annual budget.
  • Two upcoming Council events are Adopt-a-Highway on 12/8/07 and Pancake Breakfast on 12/9/07.
  • "Keep Christ in Christmas":  We have sold approximately $350.00 in Christmas cards to date per Terry Whalen.  50% of the revenue from the card sale is income for the Council.
  • Right-to-Life:  Tom Lindsey mentioned that the Respect for Life Gala on 10/25/07 was very successful with almost 600 people attending.  Jim Haag reminded the members of the Raleigh-for-Life march on 1/12/08 and the National March for Life in Washington, D.C. on 1/22/08.
  • The fundraiser for Ralph Poyo (Texas Hold'em Night) was deferred to 2008.
